Coherence-Seeking Across Physics Constructs

Students seeking coherence across the various domains of knowledge is something we value at a large scale value due to what we know about how students construct knowledge. We expect within a physics class students will be able to move between the various constructs that may at the surface level appear to be disparate across the chapters or assignments. To this end, we identify in this competency elements of the physics curriculum that we expect student should be able to display evidence that they can connect and move between.

  1. Students should be able to move between constructs of force and energy including evaluating how much work is done by a force and how that applies to a change in energy.
  2.
